We follow Sunny, a queer person of colour struggling with where they fit in within the queer community on a journey from their childhood bedroom through to several individual experiences of racism and ignorance queer people of colour have faced.

A queer (almost) love story, with just a sprinkle of... racism, sass and humour, A Splash of Milk explores what it means to be part of the global majority as well as being queer and how this affects your relationship with the queer community itself.

First performed in Camden Fringe 2022, A Splash of Milk has received critical acclaim following it’s runs at The Hope Theatre’s Winter Season 2022, Omnibus Theatre’s 96 Festival 2023 and Camden People’s Theatre’s New Adventures Festival 2023, as well as travelling to Hull.

Praise for A Splash of Milk

“A Splash of Milk” is like a kiki in your friend’s bedroom. You know, the classic: you laugh, gossip, exchange Grindr/dating stories. It’s all fun and games until you realise that your dating experience may be quite similar… Except you were never called a racist remark on a date. And yeah, no one really cancelled on you just because “oh I thought you were a Latino”

A Splash of Milk is endlessly relevant and could easily evolve into essential viewing. Sunny may feel lost and lacking in direction, but Sami Sumaria and the team at Pink Milk have a real understanding of their work and the issues they want to address – simply put, this already touching show is well on its way to greatness.
